Bought a set of CCW SP500, and want to choose the best conditioning before putting them on the car. I have Zaino and all kinds of wax, and am open to using any of it. Whats the best process. A guy told me today to polish them and apply Zoop Seal after that. Sure this thing has been discussed a lot, but hear it is again. These wheels are polished aluminum
The best stuff I have found so far is Adams#1 and Adams#2 metal polish. I used mothers for a while and it worked fine (although very messy to work with paste) I held off switching to Adams , and Now I wish I would have swtiched sooner. It's so much easier to use and really makes them shine after you are done. I normally just apply a coat of NXT Meguiers or Meguires regular paste wax, and that helps keep some of the break dust off.
I am not convinced that zoop seal is the right way to go. I have spoken to a few wheel repair shops, and most have said zoop seal is fine , but you will notice a difference in the look of th wheels..so I have not sealed them.
I personally like Boms Away aluminum cleaner. I have tried Adams Polish, Mothers Power Metal and Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish. I find that Boms Away works the best at removing stains and leaves a great Chrome like finish. After the wheels are polished I follow up with several coats of Rejex. The most I have had to do to the wheels after a year of owning them is a quick touch up on a couple of spots and the car sits outside under a cover.
I just polished my CCW's and used adams #1 and #2 polish. I than applied zoopseal on top of it. It acts as a barrier to keep brake dust and water spots off them. They look like chrome now. I will post a pic when they are done.
Happich Simi-chrome has been around for years. it will put a shine on most metals, aluminum, brass, chrome, stainless, gold. I've even used it for taking scratches out of plastic face shields. it'll make aluminum wheels look like chrome. it was originally developed in germany for the tool and die industry
I took these photos yesterday: car is 9 years old 71,000 miles, wheels are five years old, rotors are 6 years old. A little mothers and some Zano.. been doing this for 6 or seven years. along with my spring wheel well and rotor cleaning. It gets easier every year..The car looks high because it just came down off jack stands. its lowered

BTW - I went with chromed ones and I use Mothers chrome polish
becareful with the Chrome polish the chrome is microns thin... you are much better using windex to clean them, and maybe once a year use the Mothers...Dont use it too often... you will be sorry....

Thanks for all the input fellas. I have Zaino, which I've been using for a couple of years. Guess I'll polish w/ mothers, then a couple of layers of Zaino. Thanks again.
I would strongly suggest Zoop Seal. My SP500's looked like new after 1 year of daily driving in wet Florida. I spot polished them maybe twice in one year. It's expensive but also very low maintenance.

There is lots of good info here in this thread , I would just like to add my 2 cents worth, I used every cloth under the sun when I polished my CCW wheels from old tshirts to the good microfiber towels and everything in betwen and still i would get fine scratches untill I tried a product called webril wipes and they made all the difference in the world only thing is I have to order them nowhere local sells them in my area. just google webril wipes and you can find them
