Please Help... A\C Question
After pulling out of the parking lot, I flip on the A\C to combat the Florida heat. The passenger side was blowing extremely hard and very cold, while my center vent and driver door vent was very faint and very warm. I set the thermostat to 60 and cranked the fan to high. After a 10 minute ride back to the house, nothing had changed.
I called the guy at Sears and asked if they unplugged a hose or something, and he said no. He said it was some sort of “node” motor that controlled the pressure of flow between the driver and passenger side. He said that since the battery had such a low voltage, the node freaked out or something. He told me to take the car on a 20 minute ride and it would reset itself. I went on a 25 minute ride and nothing.
If this “node” is the problem, how do I reset it? Or what else could it be? It was working fine before I left for my trip, but it isn’t working now. Please help…
Thank You,
VF007
UPDATE- I tried removing fuses 18 & 27 (twice) and the problem still exists. I tried reindexing via the on-board DTC, still have the problem. I will try adjusting the actuator by 2 teeth counter clockwise this weekend. All of this because my battery died. I hope this works, If not I will have to bite the bullet and take it to Chevy. I'll keep you posted.
4/26/08 The DIC codes are gone, and the A\C worked briefly. Now it is doing the same thing again, but still not DIC codes. I am going run to autozone and have them check the freon. If it is not low, then I will remove the battery and check for a break in the hose.
5/10/8 Cold A\C again. I took it to "The Corvette Shop of Tampa". It was not the actutater. It ended up being the A\C control unit. I was told that during the tests, it would blow cold, then hot, and stay at hot. They replaced the unit and she blows cold. Thank you all for the input.

As far as I know the venting selection is done by vaccum and has nothing to do with any "node".
The vaccum hose that control the vents runs under the battery. Sometimes, because of a battery leak, the plastic hose gets broken and all vents start to work. (I know it is happening to my 2000 A4 now).
I believe you have 2 distintive problems.
1-Slow drain in your electrical system
2-Some malfunction in the vaccum line
Hope to shed some light into your problem
