Default Help - Map Lights to White LED Conversion

Hey Guys,

I have a 2004 Z06 and ordered some 44mm festoon bulbs from Autolumination.com but when I went to install them I found out that my stock map lights are yellow/blue LED lights.

I believe I ordered the wrong bulbs, can someone help me out with LED bulb # equivalent?

yellow and blue bulbs are correct. I swapped mine out with 3MM individual bulbs and soldered them in. I am not familiar with the "festoon" but if worried about color, all white is what I did and looks great. R/ Al

Default Instructions

Here are the instruction http://www.spdkilz.com/techtipledrearviewmirror.html on replacing the LED's in the mirror. You need 12 5mm LED's. Most people get them from http://www.oznium.com/led. I used LED's rated at 8000mcd (this is a brightness rating, Oznium 5mm white LEDs I believe are 8000mcd).

It does require the ability to solder to replace the LEDs. If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask.

Are you sure you used 5MM? I used the 3MM variety and they would just fit into the female sockets in the lens. I have a 2002. R/Al

I believe the festoons were for the cargo area lights for the coupe. Something I still have to swap myself...

The cargo lights are 194 bulbs, same as the footwells.

As stated by SilverC54Me the lights in the back of the cargo area in a coupe are 194, Festoon bulbs work in the non dimming mirrors.

You can get LED's on ebay pretty cheap. I used 5mm Red LED's in the mirror in my 04 coupe with a 2 tone black/red interior. It looks great.
