Default Got a question about a cam

I just purchased a comp cam 238/242 dur, lope 113,valve lift 605. 610. What is the most power a 04 zo6 has made with cam only???? The car has Kooks long tubes 1 7/8 headers and x pipe with cats, with corsa cat back. I'm just curious who has made the most power with this set up. I'm thinking of putting some trick flow head on there, but haven't made my mind up on that yet.

Thanks,
2KLEN4U

Well the results are in, and I'm very happy with the power I added by just putting this cam in. Here are a couple of pictures of the dyno sheets. There not really that clear, so you may need to pull the computer up closer ;-)

First Pull

Second Pull

I've seen upwards of 450rwhp on cam only z06's. No clue what the most power ever would be. 420 is easy with that cam, I'd bet you go higher.

Yeah that was my guess, well I said 420. Anything over that is a plus, and will make me extra happy! I was just curious who has made the most power with cam only, also. Thanks for your input!

It really depends on who's dyno you run it on. There are some very happy dyno's out there nowadays.

I made 420rwhp and my cam is only a 228/232/113. I do have a Vararam though, with LT headers. Its all in the tune though really.

Well thats not bad numbers at all. I have a good tuner for the car. The car has kooks longtube headers, with catted x-pipe, and corsa cat back, along with Black Hawk Cai. So, I'm hoping to see sum good numbers come sat. I'll be sure to let you guys know what she made. When we "get ur dun"!!

Thanks again for everyone who has chimed in on this ?

Much Respect,

I was pretty impressed with what it did tonight! 434rwhp on Arthur's stingy dyno is pretty good! I wonder what it would have done without the cats? I'm pretty sure a good set of heads and a ported FAST 92 setup will get you 475 or so

Thanks Smokey/Gomer... I posted the two sheets you gave me. I notice one made more power than the other. I didn't look at them while we were there talking to ask why. So if you can..... Let me know why one made almost 445rwhp and the other made 434rwhp? Car is running great, and can't wait for the new heads and throtle body and intake to be put on. Im going to say we will be close to 500rwhp. NA. This is my first vette that I have not modded the **** out of. I have always built one from bottom up and threw a turbo or procharger on it. So this is a little different animal to me, and I really like it. After driving it all nite from huntsville to cullman and back to huntsville. I got really good gas millage, and I was proud of that, because I figured this cam would get into my good gas milliage!!

Much Respect,

The pull that was over 440rwhp was a peak reading that was taken from a spike that you see at the end of the pull. The number, disregarding the peak, was about 3rwhp less than the very last pull. We went ahead and pulled it a little higher on that last run and there wasn't the "spike" at the end... so the peak number on the last run is a true reading.
