Default What wipers are you using?

My car has always had a rather deep scratch in the windshield that looks like it came from the metal wiper arm rubbing against the windshield without the wiper attached. Upon cleaning the windshield today, i noticed that the wiper is OEM!!! Completely plastic and the blade virtually disitegrated. I replaced it with a cheapo for the time being, but i'm looking for a good wiper.

I'm giving some thought to the new contour style wipers with no "skeleton" So far i'm looking at:

Rain-X "latitude"
Bosch "icon"
Anco "contour"

they all seem to be around the same price.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like you left the wiper on for a long time. I replace mine every year (blade and "plastic skeleton"). I just buy the most simple ones that are the correct size, I don't like the wipers to stand out. I've not noticed any difference in performance between the brands.

Yes, I drive in the rain.

I bought the Anco contour style blades at Walmart for my S-10 pickup. They work great and there is less blade to stand out visually. My Vette doesn't see rain very often, only if I'm out and get caught in it. I'm still going to get a set for the Vette, though. Besides their wet weather performance, there is less blade to notice and they should be easier to dry when washing the car. Definetely worth the money, about $28 for the pair.

Have never used mine either, but on other cars I use this, and it REALLY works. In a downpour on the highway, while others have their wipers on high, I don't have mine on!

Do Corvettes come with wipers? I thought driving in the rain violates the Corvette Commandments.

I have the RainX latitude blades on all of my regular cars. They are the best blades that I have ever had.

Best I've ever used. And with Rain X on the glass, you rarely have to use them anyway.

Still have the originals on my 98. Maybe I should take a look at them today.

I like OEM wiper blades. I have tried all the other brands but keep going back to OEM's. The OEM's just seem to be an all around better wiper IMHO

Bosch Icon. I've NEVER seen a blade that works better.

Rain-X works great when your going faster than 50...but when you're moving slow, the water will bead, but doesn't roll off very well.

That's what happens when you don't sharpen them.
