I have a 04 that only has 14,000 miles on the the car. Whenever I wash it though, it leaks? I did some research and see that I am not the only person with this problem. It leaks on my passenger side and I have located the leak. When I spray water on top of the car going down my molding water seeps in by the seat belt holder and runs down to the floor. If I am facing the car, passenger side I spray water on the top of the car heading to the back bumper. This is when the water comes in. It doen not leak anywhere else that I can find. What is the name of the molding on top of the window called? Would it make a difference replaceing rubber molding on back left side of window, or just adjusting the window? I dont think so because it appears to stay dry on the inside of window as well as the headliner. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If you're washing your car there is no need to be "spraying" water on your car. I agree the seal SHOULD be better, but if a heavy rain doesn't get through you just need to take it easy with the hose while washing your car.
My thought is that this is not a serious issue, a nagging thing maybe but a serious issue, no.
When you put a hose on a car that is like a torrential RAIN , I think every now and then my 01 Z06 has a similar kinda leak around the passenger window if I get too crazy with the hose.
If thats the worst thing you have found U dun good !
I appreciate the coments from the both of you. I should have been more specific though I guess. When I said spray I should of explained that this is nothing more than a mist realy just to get the soap off. I guess I should drive it in the rain to see what happens and how bad it is I guess. Can you tell me if it is hard to remove the weather stripping? If I do this project would I need new weather stripping or can I just reuse mine if it does not tear after it has been sealed?
Thanks for all of the help guys.
