I had a 92.... now a 02 Z06. Like apples and oranges. No comparison. Step up to a C5 and you'll never look back. A friend of mine told me that the FRC's looked more european.... Hmmmmm..... I get a wet spot driving my Z ...... EVERY TIME!!!

FRC is great because it's a Corvette. I understand there are hardcore enthusiast out there that want that extra shaving of pounds and slightly higher rigidity. However I don't see the bonus in having less options, seems like an oxymoron LOL. I love my power seats and all the toys a coupe will come with, ESPECIALLY the targa roof. Only reason I could justify getting an FRC Corvette is if it's a ZO6.

When I was researching C5's I was immediately drawn to the FRC.

Finding one was a different problem.

I wanted 1999 in black/black. Only about 1200 made.

Took me a year to find the one I wanted.

Have never regretted it. When/if I sell this one, I will be getting a C5 Z06.

My last two have been FRCs and I'm extremely happy with this model...plus there were only 311 of mine that were made. You won't see this on every street corner. AND I don't have a tupee either

If I was to get some-thing other than my coupe it would be a Z06.

You know it's easier to make a coupe an FRC than a FRC a targa. Oh and WAY less expensive.

I think GM had to do an economy of scale to justify making Z06's

personally, I think they are

I guess it depends what you are planning to do with it. Are you looking to own a hard driving, modified street racer, leaving tire life on the pavement or a daily cruiser built for comfort as well as speed? Living in Florida, I like the option of going topless and for long trips its nice to have the storage area in the hatch for luggage. Which ever you choose, I'm sure you will love it. I would be weary of a C5 for under 10K though. Be sure to check it out real well.
