Default Exhausting Question ??? GHL/Borla/BB?

OK- now I am ready to "pull the trigger" on a cat back for my 2002 Z06 (stock except for a magnaflow X -Pipe).

I want an aggressive idle - and WOT. I do not want to make enemies out of my middle class neighbors.

My selection is narrowed to:

1) Borla Stingers
2) GHL Magnums
3) B&B Bullets ( nasty I know)
4) B&B PRT's

I am leaning towards the GHL Magnums ( not the GHL Bullets) - thinking they will give me the agressive 60"s musclecar sound I want.

However- seems the Borla Stingers are very popular for the C5.

I know- Corsa Indy's - but they will not be aggresive enough for me. I can coast home at low rpm's with a louder system.

??????????????????????????

Definitely recommend the Magnums then. I was going to get the magnums, but my car is also going to be running headers, xpipe and high flow cats so I settled on the Bullets to make sure that my neighbours won't end up hating me.

I bought the system through Custom Corvette Accessories and Chip was a life saver. He assisted my questions and helped me pick a style based on my needs. All in all, a great guy to deal with and made the choice very easy!

Does anyone know of a web site you can hear sound bites of these different exhausts??? I know some web sites had this feature when looking for an exhaust for my motorcycle.

www.ls1sounds.com might have them?

I went with the SLP Loudmouths personally...i hate my neighbors I will let you know how I like them. I was back and forth between the Bullets and the Loudmouths but I decided 'go big or go home'. However I will not be running a cam and headers (atleast for now). I can only imagine though if I was.

On a side note, how do you like that Magnaflow X pipe?

The Magnaflow X Pipe - installed to eliminate the irritating H-Pipe jingles. However- lost the bark and popping that I liked. My suggestion - keep the H-Pipe unless you are like me and cant stand the H Pipe jingles.

I'm putting on some b&b bullets this weekend. I drive my car daily, but don't mind drone (I actually like it). And I don't really care what my neighbors in the apartment think when I come home after work at 4am. They have an annoying baby that screams all morning while I try to sleep, so I see it as getting even.

Another vote for B&B Bullets. I've had mine for about a year and they are everything I would've wanted in a aggressive performance sound. This exhaust growls upon acceleration and pops a bit under decel. Just so you know I'm still friendly with the neighbors and receive compliments on my pipes from 911 owners to hog riders. Just pull the damn trigger, you won't be dissapointed.

It all depends on what you are looking for. ***** out loud or Loud but doesn't drive you mad on long trips or daily use. I was faced with the same decision you are trying to make. I originally wanted the borla's but after riding in a Z with them I coulnd't take the drone. Same for the B&B.

I went with the GHL's Magnums simply because you can hear yourself think when you are driving around or if my girlfriend is in the car. I don't have a partition and the Z is my daily. Trust me they are PLENTY loud when you get on it. I also actually prefer the GHL tone a lot more then the others now as well. Definitely old muscle and there's didn't seem to be as many C5's out there with GHL's.

Either way, all 3 are top notch.

Good luck.

None of those systems are loud with stock manifolds and stock cats, I'd go with the B&B Bullets since they are the loudest of the ones you listed.

I run longtubes, no cats, magnaflow X-pipe, and Borla Stingers, it's a NASTY combo.

I've got the BB PRT. Thought I'd chime in since you hardly ever hear about these. They're pretty loud at idle and WOT but they're relativley quiet while cruising on the freeway.

Of course my combo is with BB Shorties and I bought the car with those headers so I wouldn't be able to say what they sound like with the stock manifolds.

I'm a big fan, but then again I've never heard the bullets in person so I can't really compare.
