It was warm in Chicago Saturday, warm enough to take the car cover off. I was tired of my trunk lid (FRC) not popping up unless I slammed the doors.
After reading several posts on the Forum I went to my local Tru Value and bought a spring and plastic cap. I cut a couple of coils off of the spring and formed a tight loop on one end with a vise grips and needle nose pliers. I installed the spring on the latch on the lid at one of the latch screws and now my trunk lid pops up one inch when I press my remote. Total cost less than $2 and 10 minutes of my time not counting the trip to Tru Value. No Corvette Tax.
