I've expanded my search to include C5's. So far I have found two
2000's coupes with less than 35K and lots of options for 20K to 22K.
Are there known trouble spots to look for that will indicate past care? Such as looking at a C3, one needs to check the bird cage. As I am just starting to look at C5's, do they have a bird cage? Is the frame all alluminum?

Any other trouble spots?
Here are a couple of references to help you in your search.
Zero frame or structural issues. Column Lock Bypass is a must, leaking rear diff seals, dim readout on HVAC controller, OEM battery leaking on PCM, peeling clear coat on targas. That's a few of the more common ones. The CLB is an easy fix for about $100. A leaking battery can cause a lot of problems with electrical and HVAC, but it's easy to spot, just look for corrosion under the battery tray. Rear diff seals will run $200-$400 replaced, depending on the dealer. Targas are for sale all over the parts section $400-$600. Just give it a good once over, looking for anything out of place, wobbling pulleys, etc. Or better yet, have a good C5 mech or a local CF member check it out for you. Either way, with the mileage range your looking at, good chance the car is well cared for and not thrashed. There are plenty of nice well-maintained cars out there, don't get in a hurry. Good luck!!
p.s. Don't let the long list of problems scare you. There are MANY high mile C5s with ZERO major problems.
