Do you guys worry about this
Am I too obsessed?

Now, anytime any of my cars go into a shop, I watch like a hawk, and if they have a problem with it, I go elsewhere.
I took my Miata for a tire change once, and they lost one of the center caps and returned the car to me while standing in front of the affected wheel, hoping I wouldn't see it.
I took my Ranger in for a tire change (different shop) and they dropped the rim and bent the flange on the outside face.
The following year, I took the Ranger to yet ANOTHER tire shop and they dropped a DIFFERENT rim. So now I have two dinged rims.
So considering my luck with tire shops, when I put new rubber on the Vette, I stood no further than 10 feet away the whole time. Finally got good service! The guy was very friendly, and handled everything with both hands and very carefully. He didn't tighten the lugs with an air gun, he used a torque wrench. He even jacked the car up properly. He also gave me, free of charge, shorter chrome valve stems.

When I got new tires, I did not think the lift was low enough to drive on, so I just took 2 wheels at a time to have the tires mounted.
I asked repeatedly if they use lift puks and I go as far as leaving a note taped to the radio when I know someone needs to lift the car.
