Default Targa top Question

So, how fast can you drive with the top off? I was driving at 75 mph during our cruise and it was way too turbulent. Driving below 50 mph was perfect. Any fix?

if you crack your windows about an inch from the top, the turbulence goes away...in my experience.

I do 70 with mine off. I had a t-top camaro before this so I guess I'm used to it. That and driving UPS and Fedex trucks with the side doors open.

I just turn the radio up and enjoy, doesn't bother me a bit at those speeds. Just bit more turbulence than my old Vert, IMHO.

I attempt to avoid taking her on the highway with her top off. I’ve seen a couple of items in the catalogs that claim to reduce the turbulence, but I’m skeptical.

Cant say how fast Ive gone with it off but I wont do it again at that speed with the top off. I had the windows up also and the turbulance was really bad.

I have a vert, so no experience here.
What about the hatch clips that open the back 1-2"?

Hatch vent clips work perfectly at highway speeds. They do increase your blind spot a little, but you get used to it.

I ordered mine from Eclkers. My only gripe is that the rubber wears off after a while. Other than that, and people constantly telling you "your hatch is up" it's one of the best purchases I made. You can see them installed in my sig pic...

I use them(it) on my 85 and it makes a big difference.

On my 01, I hardly ever take the top off. I just turn the A/C on and drive in comfort with no turbulence at all ...

the more wind the better as far as I'm concerned. That's why I bought the Coupe.

Better be careful on the highway with the top off. When I had my WS6 I had the tops off and a damn rock about smacked in the skull. It wasn't a small one either.

I've been in the targa game since I was 20, so I love the wind, noise, turbulence all of it! Just turn up the music, and blast away in the ride.

I love mine off at any sane speed. Can't remember ever not wanting it off in nice weather. If its cool the windows are up, but if its warm they're down.

I'm comfortable with the top off at any speed. Low or high, its fun to cruise that way!
