My passenger window will not go up. The buttons on the passenger door also do not work, not even the unlock/lock button. Do I have a loose connection somewhere?
At around this time I also had the fuel gauge, T/C, A/C, and reduced power codes flash on screen. Even the radio went out! It all kicked back on shortly after.
Considering the other codes, I would check the battery connections first, if they look ok try another battery if you have one. Then pull that switch out and make sure the connection it tight, and while you have the door panel out check to make sure the window is on the track and everything. If that doesnt fix it find a buddy with a C5 that will let you try his switch set, if that doesnt work I would assume its a window motor problem, and replace that.
I bet that it's a battery or charging problem tho, battery issues can cause WEIRD stuff to happen, so first check the connections, then go from there.
I had this happen in my 2002 Convertible right before I sold it.....It turned out to be a bad connection in the wiring harness connector that goes through the "accordion" hose between the door and the body....This probably is the result of opening and closing the door thousands of time....All I had to do was unplug the connector, clean it with electrical cleaner...straighten the pins....then apply silicone grease and re-connect it....Here's the tricky part.....This connector is a ROYAL PAIN to get to...It's under the dash on the drivers side right above the left kick panel where the accordion hose goes into the door pillar....You have to be a contorsionist to get to it....The accordion hose will pop out of the door pillar with a little effort...Once you disconnect the connector you can pull the harness out to get to the connector to clean it, straighten the pins, and apply the silicone grease...
If youre mechanically inclined you shouldnt have a problem with this...If you arent, take it to your mechanic and tell him what I said needs to be done...

Dan,
Thank you for having the same problem Do I need to remove the door panel in order to get to the connector? Does the faulty connector under the dash on the drivers side apply to the drivers door and passenger door?
you may need to clean all the ground connections , but that amy not be the problem with the window , if the motor is not runing it could be a bad window motor

oak
let us know how it turns out
It's not the window motor. Everything kicked back on and worked for a few weeks - not it's out again.
Hi There,
This problem sounds like the classic loose connection. I would start by checking the battery cables for being loose(11ft. lbs.) or corroded.2. Load test the battery.3 Have an assistant operate the pass. door controls while at the same time you are shaking the wiring harness above the right kick panel on the pass.side.(Tough area to get to.You are practically standing on your head). If you are tall like me 6ft. 2" I would shake the accordion type hose located at the upper door hinge area pass.side). If your passenger window starts to work then you have a loose or bent connector. If the window does not work at all.I would start by popping the pass.control switch cover just pops up with a small putty knife or 2 screw drivers spaced a part & wrapped in a rag.Normally switches are the first to fail & not the motor, unless you have a water leak at the glass.Question for you: Are the drivers side window & door lock working properly? Any DIC codes stored?

Reason: additonal info.

Thanks again,

Jim,
Sorry I didnt get back to you sooner....somehow I missed your response....NO, the door panel does not have to come off....The connector on the drivers side feeds the drivers door, the connector on the passenger side feeds the passenger door.....Does using either the driver's or passenger door switch make a difference on whether or not the window, door locks work???

Sounds like a classic loose connection- probably a ground problem. Been there-done that!
Good luck find it. Might help if you can get hold of a service manual "s" and look into the schematic sections. Sounds like a common cause to all the probs.
Hi There,
These pictures & info. are provided by Bill Curlee will give you a better idea.
There is a very common issue with both door control wiring harnesses. It will cause one or both doors to malfunction. The symptoms vary but if you have any door control issues, here is a quick and easy check and a fix:
There are TWO wiring harnesses in each door and they connect to connectors inside the door frame through the accordon tube. The accordion tube can be easily removed (it just pops in and out) and the harnesses and connectors can be pulled up and out of the door frame. If your door control modules ever stop working, grap the black accordion tube and shake it while you hold the window up or down button. If it fixes the issue, you need to inspect the harness connectors. If it does'nt fix the issue, it still a good idea to pop the harness out and see if yours is faulty.
What normally happens is the buss wire sheaf pulls out of the connector and the bare wire grounds out.
