Default Vararam Installed Today

Finally, it took a few hours total but took my time. Got it for Christmas! Can't wait to get to the track. Hoping to break in to the 12's on a nice cold day. Did go 13.2 @108mph last summer so I guess it's possible.

Huh - what is this about pinging? I have a Vararam waiting to be installed - and this is the first I have heard someone say that, maybe I have missed it in the past so more info would be appreciated. Thanks

Had a Vararam on my 01 for 2-3 years without issue and should receive the one I ordered for my 02 tomorrow. This is the first time I've ever read the words Vararam and pinging in the same sentence. What am I missing?

I'm pretty sure you'll do it. My 01 went 13.19 stock and went 12.88 with the Vararam. On a cooler day and with more practice I think I might have improved on that slightly. Let us know!

Thanks everyone for the input! I'm confident and looking forward to the strip soon. Since yesturday I put around 90 miles on and it feels real good! Of course if really comes on strong the faster you go.
I was wondering though if the oil coating on the filter will disipate more quickly than on the enclosed system, especially if you drive in the rain a lot. Any thoughts on this??

Have had mine in for about a month (1K miles maybe) and couldn't be happier. I do still get some surging occasionally which, the first time it happened, freaked me out but now that I've read others have experienced it too, am more comfortable. The increase in HP and torque are amazing. I really have a hard time keeping my foot out of it now. NEXT MOD: Cat-Back, then headers.

For everyone that posted about future mods, cat-back, long-tubes and so on, check local listings and make sure you can pass the testing in your area. Just another old guy FYI Not that old,but just check out your local laws.
