2001 Z06 Convertible
Hmmmm! Watched Speed Channel's Pass Time last night and saw a C5 that the owner said was a 2001 Z06. It comes up to the line and its a vert. 
He then proceeded to say that it has 450 RWHP. Ran in the high 13's.
Don't they ever researsh this stuff?
Anyone else notice this?

I didnt see it but there are some convertible Z06's out there. Obviously they didnt come from the factory like that. But if he claims he has 450rwhp and ran a high 13 then he sucks at driving or he doesnt know what rwhp he really has.

Yea, could be a vert Z06 (aftermarket conversion) but he really can't drive well with those times.

They didn't make targa Z06s either... but I have one now 
Point is, he's not necessarily a poser as a few companies do the conversions and a few people with skills have done their own. Check out the profile for user illmac77 (http://forums.corvetteforum.com/member.php?u=36521). My buddy Mike did his vert conversion with the help of our good buddy Gary Ballard (GBVette).

maybe i misunderstood the intent behind your post, but i hope you didn't think i was actually calling the dude a poseur (i didn't even see the show). i was actually mocking what i have had to endure with my own 'verted z0 (hence the "rofl" smilies at the end of my comment). i constantly have to explain to the "purists" that my car started out as, in fact, a true z06. some still walk away thinking i have simply "badged" my 'vert.
while you were on "hiatus", i have actually had correspondence with illmac re: his conversion and how much i like it and i am also anxiously awaiting the unveiling of your targa'd z0.
one thing i am not is a s!@#-talker, unless provoked

Saw the episode...it did look correct from the front and had brake ducts. But, couldn't tell anything else (as he could have added screens and ducts, obviously). It may be a conversion.
However, he spun through the first two gears
. Obviously by the look on his face during the race...he knew not what he was doing.
