I have recently noticed it sounds like 2nd gear is grinding in my car at the track when going from first to second. I have never grinded a gear in the car, yet at the track it started doing it. Before it was only doing it at the track, but on the way home from the track last night I punched it and it did it on the road. Someone told me it might be because I am slipping the clutch too slow, but now that it did it on the road I think maybe it might be the synchros? I really don't know what to think. The car has 30k on it and it is my DD.
How much would something like that cost to fix? Im guessing not cheap. Would my best bet be rebuilding the whole thing and doing a clutch swap if I really need it?
Any other thoughts? Should I just keep riding it out until it starts becoming hard to get into gear? It doesn't make any noise unless I am fully WOT till redline and shift fast.

Dave, if you're going to be a regular at the drag strip a beefed up tranny and clutch package might be a wise investment. RPM transmissions may be able to help you with prices.
I believe ECS (East Coast Supercharging) partners with Rodney on installs.
