HELP!!! History: Bought 04 ZO6 0 miles late 04 (Maxie Price Chevrolet in Georgia) “Dino 360rwhp” ran 11:70 at the track with drag radials (In Love), Late 05 buy STS Twin Turbo System “Dino 560rwhp” (Very In Love) Stock clutch starts to react a little funny pedal engages a little funny. Ordered exedy racing clutch, pedal still a little funny but the car hooks up really good, I break output shaft 2nd run at track. Order hardened shaft, mechanic messes up and ruins rear end (2 months with-out the car) Race day get 2 OK runs having traction problems 3rd run start to get blow buy in the crank case turns out I ruined rings on #7 piston, Decide to fix and store the original engine Purchased new LS2 built to hold 1000hp ( 6 month with-out car) Dino “698rwhp” conservative 9 lbs of boost and running rich to help with the break in. 2nd run at track clutch froze and wont let gear engaged have to start with gear engaged in order to drive. Car is back at the mechanic on a lift , clutch looks fine I think problem is hydraulic related. Does anyone have any insight that they would like to share? Thanks,
My e-mails tony@customstainless.com or tcarnero@bellsouth.net
Not too sure by your description but it could be hydraulic or internally transmission related. Stay away from the SPEC garbage (sorry to the above poster) but I had bad luck with them as well as alot of others I know....... it also will not live behind a 700~rwhp setup for very long not to mention the drivability is complete crap. With 698HP at the rear wheels using a FI system which Im sure produces some wicked torque numbers your best bet would be running a Mcloaed twin disc, this will deliver the best drivability as well as the best clamping force.
