Default 98 air intake

I need info on replacing my air intake. I have a 98 with Borla exhaust and looking to replace the air intake. Which one is the best and where is the best place to get it.

Use the "Search This Forum" tool and type in Vararam, Blackwing, Honker. You will find a ton of threads relating to your question.

I like my Blackwing. Very easy install. The Vararam will give you better performance, but it is a more difficult install.

I've got a Halltech Stinger. It's similar to the Blackwing. I was looking for a Blackwing but found the Halltech and I'm happy with it. It cost less then the Vararam and some people say the Vararam could be a problem in extreme wet areas. I may go with Vararam in the future but for now I'm good with the Halltech.

Bite the bullet and go with the Vararam.

The performance above 40 MPH is awesome.

Vararam is a very functional intake.
I had a problem with one piece after a year and Steve @ vararam just took care of it and send me a replacement no questions asked. I dont know if its the vararam or combination of mods but my car flys!

Consider a 2002 or later Z06 air box top. Your 98 is VERY restrictive. Z06 is okay for up to 405 HP, no water issues, uses stock PAPER filter. About $65.

I did it to my 98 !

Depending how much you're willing to spend, I'd say the callaway honker or Vararam. Either way, ditch the stock intanke and let the car breath.
