Does anyone have before/after pictures of their C5 that they dropped as far as it would go on STOCK bolts with STOCK wheels?
I have a Z06 I am thinking about dropping all the way but I want to see how extreme it looks. I've seen some pics but I am hoping someone took a picture from about 10ft away or so, and then dropped it and took pics from about the same angle/distance.
I'm also concerned about rubbing with my stock Z06 size wheels/tires and also guessing throwing on the mudguards I bought would be a bad idea.
The beore pic was lowered a tiny bit. The after is all the way on stock bolts and front bushings cut to the last plate. The rears are 315/30/18 and the front are 265/40/18. Plenty more pics if you want different angle. Just ask....
I don't have a before picture, but I have your "10 ft away" after pictures. Wheels/tires are not stock, but are stock sizes. Lowering on stock bolts does not look extreme, but it is noticable. FYI, I could probably turn the bolts about 2 turns further. Go for it After you give it a week and some driving to settle, get a 4 wheel alignment.
I'm about an hour or hour and a half south of you...would you want to help lower my car sometime?
Also what problems do you guys have with rubbing, bottoming out, etc? Do you think if I lower I should just scrap the mud guards I bought because I'll be too low?
I'd be happy to help. I know where Ft. Huachuca is. It's only like a half hour process unless you want to cut the front bushings, which adds another 45 mins or so.
I have no issues with rubbing as far as tires go. The lower air dam has made a new relationship with mother earth, but it's designed to fold on contact, so no worries.
i have to travel the next couple weekends, so I wouldn'y be able to help you for a bit, but if you want to speed things up I can guide you over the phone. If you have a floor jack, jack stand and simple hand tools, it's really easy.
If you don't, you'd have to meet me at my place as I ain't throwin the jack in the Vette, and it's my only car.
