Been bothering me for awhile, but my driver's side window doesnt' seem to seal as well as the passenger side at any speed, but especially at higher than legal speeds. Cruising down the highway at 80ish drives me crazy... Anyone have a fix for this?
I went through the window adjustments with the door panel off. It helped some, but the leading edge of the drivers window just doesn't depress into the large rubber molding. There appears to be an adjustment on the molding, but mine is siliconed in place as well. I keep saying I'm going to replace the rubbber molding.
I have a similar wind noise issue on my driver's side window. My mechanic buddy Kelly pointed out a thin metal piece that goes around the edge of the door opening that holds the rubber weatherstripping. He noticed that it was bent in and thus the rubber piece wasn't getting squished enough onto the glass edge when the door was closed and window is up. I'd been moving my car around a bit right about when this noise started. I'd push it with my hand pushing on the A pillar right there where the thin metal is bent. I guess I need to be more careful where I put my hands to push the car!
A thin strong strip of plastic (or something else that won't nick or scratch the metal) can be used to reshape the metal. I haven't fixed it yet, but I'm sure thats the cause of my noise issue.
Look for my post and thread about my 04Z having issues like yours...
It was one of the first times I have seen how IDIOTIC the GM techs are..
A year of taking it back a few times and calling GM Customer Service got me no where...
Sold the car just recently...Not for that reason though....
My parts were on back order???
