Yesterday, while driving home from work in congested traffic, I noticed about 20 juviniles rushing towards my car. One of them slid across my trunk as they leapt through traffic like a bunch of gazzels on crack! Another one ran in front of my bumper just as I tried to accelerate out of the situation. I rolled foreward about 6 inches and he ended up sliding across my hood like a Duke boy from hazzard county! Anyhow, he hit my right headlight as it was in the up position and misalligned it. Then I see two deputies giving a short lived futile chase behind them. The thugs got away, and my car bears the scars. The light still goes down, but it now rubs against the right quarter panel and leaves a huge visible gap at the hood! I wonder how much it takes to re-allign the light or buy a new one? :mad
I can't answer your question, but I feel your pain. I'm sure you wanted to kill those SOBs. I'm sure the headlight can be realigned, but what a PITA to have to go thru this just because of some random punks. Good luck.
You didn't get out and open fire ... and ask questions later? Seriously, sorry to hear of this kind of shnit. Hope ya get things back to purrrfect soon. :yesnod:
Man! Thats a real mother#*&ker! I am glad I DON'T carry a piece with me :smash:
Sound like a neighborhood or route to avoid in the future :)
Hope all goes well on the repair
Damn! Sorry about your car. That makes me mad just reading about it! Grrrrr...... friggin' idiots. Hey, I may just be an old fart, but someone ought to teach those punks a lesson. Justifiable homicide, anyone??? :mad
...back when carjackings were taking place, it was recommended that you stop behind the vehicle in front of you allowing enough distance to see there rear tires/asphalt area. The idea being you leave yourself room to manuever. What's done is done, but your experience causes me to think I will go back to giving myself room to move.. even a little in your situation could have evened the odds by seating one on the asphalt..
They will most likely be in the same area at a identical time if not the next day quite possibly with in a week. What to do..... :smash: :smash:
Thanks for the replies guys. The funny thing is, I'm a cop and I had my glock with me and I was still in uniform! It happened so fast, that I reacted when the situation was just about over! I wanted to get out and assist the deputies but that meant leaving a 50k Z06 unattended in the lane of traffic. Oh well, time to fix the light.
