Not that unusual to get a HIGH TRANS TEMP warning at the track .... you should try and run a "cooling" lap by shifting as little as possible for a lap ..... On some tracks that means running a lap in 3rd gear, on some tracks a lap in 4th gear. Also try double clutching for your down shifts, that helps reduce some of the heat generated by the synchros.
Switching fluids might help with this, but generally it is my belief that if you are overheating the tranny your choice of fluid is only gonna make a few degrees difference ..... a tranny cooler becomes the next logical step to combat the problem.
Ran A Track Day A Couple Weeks Ago And Near The End Of The Sessions I Was Getting A 'high Trans Temp' Reading.
Fluid Had Been Changed Recently - Puzzled.
Also Any One Know About 'royal Purple' Lubricants.
Any Help/advise Would Be Appreciated.

same thing happened to me. i accidently hit my options button and it gave me the tranny temp! 274! i run royal purple syncromax. but it was almost 100 degree day. i just dropped it into 5th and luged it around one lap and cooled it off and then ran higher gears lower rpms and it was fine. I hear Redline and Amsoil run a little cooler
High tranny temp at the track is very common. Got one my very first DE day. Now in SCCA T1 trim, I use a tranny oil cooler.
While using a fluid such as the AMSOIL ATF or AMSOIL Torque-Drive Synthetic Transmission Fluid may help lower temps, the real concern would be how well your fluid holds up to those high temps. Most fluids will shear down very rapidly in those conditions.
Got the "high temp" warning at the track this Monday. Redline has a new High Temp Auto Tranny Oil out that meets the Dex III specs like their D4T that I've been using so I think I'll give it a try. Probably won't stop the warning from showing up, but at least the fluid will keep lubricating.
how does a manual tranny oil cooler circulate the fluid?!?!?
With a pump ....
If you go to this page and scroll down just a little bit you will see part # 12480080 (transmission cooler) and in the description of the parts, you'll see a pump listed.
