Default Firestone Firehawks

Anyone have any opinion of these tires.

I ordered them out of desperation, and now I'm regretting that hasty decision. I don't know anything about them.

Thanks,

Mindi

I have put 6000 miles on my Fire Hawks and they still have great handling, excellent wet and dry traction and a very quiet ride. They are less expensive than GY. I would buy them again. The best runflat option for the money.

Great tires... except in cold weather, but I knew that going in... in fact, the Tire Rack website makes it very clear. I'll probably buy another set when it's time.

Don't fret your decision. They're great.

I had a set, I liked them just find. I do a lot of high speed mountain driving and they stuck just fine. I just replaced them with Kumho's as they were a little cheaper. I like them as well.

I'm running a set on mine. I'd echo the comments above - I really like them on the car and would not hesitate to buy another set.

I like mine so far. Great steering response, VERY nice cornering grip, and they seem to grip fairly well from a dig.

I'd say you made a good decision.

I had them on a different car but loved them. They were a great all around tire. I can get traction in the nice weather, they were great in the rain (better for me then BFG's) and I even used them at the track. They lasted a long time too which was a big plus.

Just ordered them for my C5. Install next week.

I had a set on my C4 and felt they were outstanding. I lost a half-click in speedy turn in, but felt they had outstanding grip for mountain running here in Colorado. Quieter than the 'Gatorbacks, too, but that would be easy to do.

I think you will really like them. All high performance summer tires are miserable in cold Wx. Just keep that in mind during the cold months and you will be fine.

Default Great tire

they're great for the price. I prefer the kumho for a little more but they're still good. They are the typical tire that we put on police interceptors. I know that isn't the same as a vette but a patrol car's tires get seriously abused and they still hold up. You'll be fine with them.

I have the Firehawk wide Ovals on my Mustang GT, love the tire for the above stated reasons, wouldn't hesitate to put a set on the 'Vette. I have BF Goodrich G-forces on it now, good tire as well.

I was ready to buy the Kuhmo Run Flats - until I read their zero-pressure performance was terrible.

That's why I switched to the Firestones. But -sadly- I've been waiting... and waiting... and waiting for my set of four (in C6 sizes) but there seems to be a national backorder for the front sizes

glad to hear all the positive repleys. I just put a set on my 01' on Wednesday. The little I have driven the car since they do appear a lot quieter than the GY.

My main concern is handling and tire wear.
