Kind of an odd request but I'm looking for recommendations for transporting a car. Looking for both good and bad experiences as I know there have been quite a few on here that have bought a car cross country! Mine will be coming from San Diego to Wilmington, DE. I've already gotten a bunch of quotes ranging from 795 to 1050 but I want to hear some valued CF input
You should check out Horseless Carriage. I have a few friends who have used them. They are primarily concerned with antiques, classics and high-end cars and know how to ship them in the absolute safest manner possible. It's worth looking into if the car you're shipping is really important to you!

yeah they look like they know what they are doing. im sure your gonna throw down some change for that though
Last year a friend got a car from Texas to Reno and I think he said he paid about 1200 and it was in a enclosed trailer and covered.
Yup, as Bill said. I found a Transport for $1,425. I had to look up the price, as I did suggest 1,200 to Bill. Enclosed flat lift and flat haul, with door to door one truck delivery. They also put a car cover on it for the trip. Worked very well for me. http://www.american-autotransport.com/

I used http://www.theexpressauto.com/ with very good results. They have both open and enclosed trailers, I opted for the enclosed and it was great.
I shipped both a car and my R1 through them and had wonderful results. If I were to buy a car and have it shipped to me again, I would call them first.
I've used Intercity twice and have absolutely no complaints whatsoever. If you want to be sure your car is taken care of and arrives exactly the same as it went in the transport use Intercity. Both times they brought the car right to my house, nothing better than getting a Corvette in the "mail".
Has anyone ever used a company named CarMoves? I'm submitted quote requests for all of the companies above. Thanks for your input and keep them coming. If there is nothing else out there, perhaps this should be stickied!
