I don't know why your glovebox is opening, maybe you need a new latch? The console cover has a two-stage hinge. First it flips open, then it kinda pulls straight up. Lube the four little hinges a little and you'll be good. And yes, the cup holder stinks.

Your console cover should open to 90 degrees. Just lubricate the 2 stage hinge and you should be good to go. I had this problem with mine, and it was literally a 5 minute fix.

There are a few aftermarket cup holders out there. I bought one for mine, but I'm not really happy with it because it intrudes into the passenger foot well too much.

Welcome to the other side of the fence. The grass really is greener here. I had a C4 a few years back and the C5 is just hands down a better car in every category. Like every car-not perfect but bang for the buck-nothing come close.

To Top Flight
Nothing wrong with C-4's.
I had my '94 black/black auto for over 8 years and loved every minute with it. I won a lot of trophy's, drove 18 hours each way to the National Corvette Museum and to Carlisle. I never had any problems with it...a great car. It was just time for an upgrade.

HA! I hate driving them-the most uncomfortable seat I have ever sat on! Plus have you seen the values!? They have completely bottomed out and are practically worthless-that is, unless you have a ZR1 or Grand Sport. Not trying to bash, but my husband and I happened to purchase a pretty crappy example of a C4.

Too bad. My '94 was pretty comfortable. Drove from Bowling Green, KY to home after visiting the Vette museum. 17.5 hours straight...no problems, no sore back...just tired, but what a ride.
Plus the dealership gave me $10.9k for a trade-in against my '02 purchase in Feb. The '94 had 80k miles on her, but all original and in good condition. I thought the pricing was still holding fairly well.
We miss her, but love the C5.

Sounds like a great trade-in value.....depending on how much they wanted for the '02.

They got $25.3k. (My '94 and $15k).
The '02 is loaded, except (CD changer) has polished wheels, HUD, some chrome add-ons, only 27k miles and excellent condition. Only two very small nicks in front.
I had been searching for months on Forum, Autotrader, Craigs list, etc. I found this at a Ford dealership in CT. I figured they wanted it off their lot, plus it was winter. I think it was a pretty good deal.

Hi There,
Welcome and congratulations on the c-5.
Your center console is not opening properly because: Tighten up the 4 phillips screws and then lubricate the hinges with wd-40. Then it will open up with no hesitation. Been there fixed that.
