Convertible lid button

Default Convertible lid button

the button behind the drivers seat that pops the lid is not working does anyone have an idea of what is wrong?

it might be disconnected, if you need your lid opened w/o the button there is a pulley wire right behind the waterfall you can tug to release the latch.

I noticed the other day the button wouldn't work if doors are locked. It worried me for a moment.

If you have the trunk lid open it won't work till you close the trunk.

Mine beeps at me if I try to open it while the trunk is open.

Default Conv lid button


Check the wiring between the button and the top storage area. My wires got pinched in the lid mechanism and cut one of the wires.

Usually, if the depression of the button rolls the windows down, but does not pop the lid then you know that the button is good. At that point you'd start troubleshooting the release mechanism.
If the depression of the button does not lower the windows, start troubleshooting at the switch. HTH
Be sure the trunk is closed completely and the car is in Park for an A4, not sure about gearbox cars.

Mine does the same effin thing....it will roll down the windows but the lid will not pop. It makes a noise like the latch is doing something, but it does not move.

And yes, I have tried every kinda lubricant in there shy of KY.
