Hey guys, I have replaced the batteries in the key fobs and tried programing them by holding the lock and unlock buttons with no success. Its really annoying to have to use a key to unlock the vette, what could be the problem here? Its a 1997 corvette, thanks!
Just holding lock and unlock doesn't program the fobs, it only syncs them to the car after they have been programmed (and if they lose sync).. If it programmed, anyone with a fob could walk up to your car, hold down the lock and unlock buttons until it beeped, then open your door.
They have to be programmed by going into the DIC "fob learning" procedure that's in the manual.
If you've changed the battery and programmed them and they still don't work, you need to find a fob. Gene Culley has them advertised on the forum and gmpartshouse.com . The 97-99's are the most expensive, but search or go to the website for a price.
