So i'm thinkin of takin the z on a trip in June to Rhode Island from Chicago and am wondering what others do to avoid or plan for tire problems since we don't have a spare. What have others experienced???
Aside from the tire repair kit provided from the factory, I also purchased a tubeless tire repair kit from Walmart that contains everything you'd need to plug a tire. I also included a couple of extra tools, like a pair of pliers, to make it easier to use if needed. I was able to fit the extra stuff in the case the GM kit comes in. I also have as a last resort, a can of fix-a-flat. Lastly, a AAA card and a cell phone wouldn't hurt either. The more prepared you are, the less likely you'll need it. So far, okay!
Ive driven my z06 all over, hot rod power tour twice, never brought anything other then AAA card and tire kit that comes with the car.
And of course no run flat tires here.
someone snatched the gm kit before i bought the car so i went to wal mart and paid 20 bucks for a small compressor that plugs into the power point and 7 bucks for a plug kit. i also take a can of fix a flat. made many long distance trips yet and so far so good. knock on wood.

Plug kits have saved us...and it wasn't even from a long trip. There was a screw that was about 5 inches long stuck in our tire. Compressor would work too! Make sure your cell phone is charged too, just in case. Sounds like it will be a nice trip though!!! Good luck!
