Default How would it look?

How would it look if I painted the faded plastic cowl under the windshield wipers? Has anyone painted theirs before? Do you think it would look bad using black Kyrlon for plastics, (gloss or Satin)?

I painted mine. I used the spray paint made for platics. Looks good.

IIRC I used gloss because it was what I had.

Do a search because some guys have painted it. And several have painted it body color. I like the look. My car is black so it doesn't make a lot of sense for me.
You could also use a product to return the black plastic to black. Many products for this.
Good Luck. Post pics when you're done.

I have seen pics of people doing it and it looks good, but I would go the plastic cleaner stuff route first.

Mothers "Back To Black" does a great job. I used it once a year on the black body trim <the original BSM > that went around my 85 and it made it look almost showroom new.

When you pull it off to paint it, suggest that you strip off the rubber seal on the bottom and replace the 2 sided sticky that hold it in place. When the stick dries out the rubber seal will creep up on the glass.

I think it would take away from the edge of the hood, and disturb the lines a bit. I'd love to see pics, but in my head I aint' liking it....

Sorry I don't have pics but I had mine painted Mag red and also the wipers and it looks awesome! They should be painted right from the plant because that black plastic is ugly and gets worse as it gets older and it looks cheap. I'm sure someone here has a pic.

Here are a few pics of my cowl. Some like it, some don't. I didn't paint it to please everyone, just me.
