Default 2000 convertible

Hi

I am hoping to buy a 2000 convertible and the only things I can find wrong is a loose rear window and some damage to the weather stripping. Is there any other area's I should take a closer look at.

The car has an automatic and about 50,000 miles.

Thx

Read the sticky’s at the top of C5 tech. Don’t be discouraged by all the numerous “faults” listed as the list is quite comprehensive covering virtually all C5 problems. Most items are nuisance repairs that can be cheaply corrected by the owner. The majority of C5 owners can attest to the high reliability of the C5 platform.

Test drive the car and work ALL the controls. Check the tires for even wear and overall wear. Does the car feel tight, steer straight, etc. Weather striping isn’t cheap, so inspect ALL weather striping.

Take a look under the car while on a lift to check for leaks, etc.

The first and foremost concern is the care that the car has received. Without knowing the car throughout its life (as in one owned by a friend), a close complete inspection is all you can rely upon.

Good Luck. C5’s are great cars – a vast improvement in all areas over earlier generations.

I have a 2000 M6 vert-close to 40,000K. Been trouble free-even with all the performance mods.
