And I would never go a reclining because it CAN'T be that much of an upgrade over sport seats... You want to keep yourself in the seat better, first try a racing harness with stock sport seats. You want better holding than that, then fixed back is your only option.
It really depends on how you use your Vette. Does see any track time? If yes then go with the FX1, I have one and love it. I visit the track (road courses) at least 4-5 times per year. I also leave the seat in the Vette at all times, no issues with comfort at all.
I've got the FX1-pro, and not only does it fit perfectly in the car, but I really like the driving position and it definitely holds you firmly in the seat. Love 'em, even as a car I drive around every other day.
I also agree that a reclining "racing" seat isn't worth a crap. JMHO
Based on four decades of racing, a fixed seat, and FIVE point harness with quick release is the ONLY way to go. (The fifth or crotch strap will keep your butt from meeting up with the pedals in a shunt.) And adjust those belts tight!
