Its just a machine in my book but I understand your point. I was trying to sell the car complete but the market is in the toilet so moving it was next to impossible. Dealer wanted to give me nothing on trade in value so this was the best thing to do. Keep in mind now this was a Twin Turbo car with many mods which has a smaller market than a stock Z06.
Can you say it was worth it? Can you give us an idea of about how much more (% maybe) you came out ahead after all the labor/etc? I'm just curious. So a Z06 is worse less than the sum of its parts.... interesting.

Yes the car was worth substaintially more in pieces than as a complete car. Would I do it all over again, YES.
I also parted out my 1996 Viper GTS several years back and I netted more in pieces than a complete car. Its sad but it goes to show you where our economy is.
