Lets hope it has not been done. Then all you have to do is order a CLB.
Good Luck and Welcome.

Ask your local dealer to run the vin no. They should be able to tell you. However, be forewarned, you will be told by the masses here to buy a column lock by-pass (CLB) and install it regardless. Runs under $50. I got mine from Corvettes of Houston.

Call mike at 1-800-829-6434. He can fill you in. Good guy, great info.

Welcome to the Forum & good luck with the car.

I installed CLB on my 02 mn6 last night and noticed that some version of recall has been done on mine..One side of the wiring harness has White wire in place of Orange..according to sticky C5 Tech. Everything went well, but am I OK..Talk of 2mph fuel cutout?
Both of us will maybe, probably need to know this info..

Also even if the recall has been done should I still get the bypass and install it? I have been told to do it anyway

I bought the CLB and will be doing it this weekend. You can always remove the CLB if you have issues. I just don't want to be left stranded.

Ok I have found out my 98 did get a recall 04006 but has a status of open. That sounds to me like it wasnt brought in to have the recall done. Am I correct? Also how can I tell from my VIN # when my C5 was built? or for that matter somewhere I can decode my VIN #?

completed my CLB today... I was a bit busy and couldn't find the time to locate my torx bit set (wasnt in the tool box where I last left it )

Any event, no signs of any of the recalls nor did I get any errors. Took it for a 45 minute ride. ah yes, the weather is nice finally!
