Default Static Cling Blackout Kits

I'm looking for feedback on the static cling blackout kits. I'm want the effect without changing out the lenses and ability to take them off if I want. Any feedback from those who have them?

I would also like to hear about these. I was considering getting them for the $17 just to see if I like the looks.
TIA

they suck, 1st day i lost the left front parking light cover, by third day the rears were liftng where the screws go in and yesterday the reverse light covers started peeling off, I bought a set of the acrilic ones that use the factory screws to hold on from a forum member and what a difference. they look 100 times better

Excellent....I look forward to your feedback. Not many posts for feedback, so perhaps they are not very popular.

Had them prior to the hard lenses, they do not hold up very well and have a tendicy to loose shape and under highway speed the front ones will want to peel back. I only bought them to see if I wanted the blackout look to see if I wanted to pay for the hard lenses.

I bought a set to try to see if I liked the blackout look. I did and then I bought the acrylic ones. I still have the one on my 3rd brake light, its been there for 6 months and hasnt come off yet even during washing my car.

I will sell mine for $17 shipped (minus the 3rd brake light) if anyone wants them as I don't need them anymore. PM me if you want them.

By the way, MidAmerica told me they would replace them for free if one came off while driving.

I love em! Mine have been on for over three years now with no problems. Great inexpensive alternative. People shouldn't blame the static clings if they failed to put them on correctly.

Never tried the Static cling ones, but I do have the hard cover ones. I don't really care for them, because they don't really stick to well, at least the brake lights don't. Mine have little velcro circles that hold them on and they stick directly to the outer factory lens, and then the inside of the cover lens. At night when the brake lights come on, you can see little the little velcro cirlcles on the outsides of them. I personally don't like that, but my fiance likes them so untill I decide to get them painted I'll prolly just leave them on. They do look good in the day time though.

You've got the right idea. For $17 you get to see if you want to spend money on some real ones.

i LOVE mine. not as slick looking as the hard plastic overlays but totally work if your on a budget like I am. it says to remove them before you wash the car, i've never taken mine off and i wash my car every other weekend for the past 4-5months and i've NEVER lost one or had a stick problem. they rock, i say do it to see if you like the black out look on your car, then later get the really good ones that are like $75 lol. thats my plan

I'm on two years with mine with zero problems. I only did my front;

I took two of the tail light overlays and cut em to cover my reverse lights but I don't have a pic of them...

I had them on my car for several years without any problems. I recently upgraded to led lights but I highly recommend them if you are looking for an inexpensive mod.

Uhmmmmmm! I had a set on my Vette and they blew off real easy so I went to the covers and I am happier with them!

No issues at all with the lenses and they can be removed easily and do not change the appearance of the lights when they are on or the brakes are hit!

It illuminates as much as the static cling which will "BLOW OFF"

Buy the covers and you will be much happier!

Thanks,Matt

...if you don't put them on correctly!

Clearly, many of us have figured out how to install them and discovered they are a good alternative to the expensive, more permanent ones.
