I just bought a set of Z06 wheels from a buddy that are 17x9.5 fronts and 18x10.5 rears. I currently have 245/45ZR17's and 275/40ZR18's GY Eagle F1 A/S tires on the stock wagon wheels that came with my
'97 when I bought it used last year. Will these GY's fit these rims?
Take a look at this tire data calculator. According to it, the 275-40-18 inch tires would be ok on the 10.5 inch rim but 9.5 inch rim would be a bit wide for the 245-45-17 inch tires.
Your original GY tires are at least 11 years old, industry recommends replacement after 6 years (might be conservative). Look between your tread, in the valleys, (and sidewalls) for any sign of cracking. I would not be doing any HPDE or high speed cruising with those.!
Plus they must be hard as rocks (ride rough), and get little traction.
Ignore my response, I just re-read and saw your tires were GY F1 A/S, those are NOT the original tires.

The tires will fit but it's not recommended since it'll be stretching the tires quite a bit.
Someone posted a picture of a 275 on a 10.5" rear (on another thread) and you could actually see how the wheels were the outermost part of the wheel/tire. Definitely not a good thing if you want any curb rash protection against your wheels.
I made the mistake of buying a set of Z06 wheels without realizing this. I ended up buying a set of Firehawk Wide Ovals in the Z06 sizes. A $1000 mistake. Oops!
Yes you can do it but it is not recommended... you will stretch the sidewall, giving a European look... it will also open up the bead area exposing your wheel to curb damage...
I took a picture at a car show of someone who had done it...
it is particularly noticable on the rear wheel....
Thanks for all those replies. I'm going to look into Z06 wheels with the same width as my stock wagon wheels so I don't get into trouble with stretching these fairly new GY's.
