So, I just totalled the Corvette. I was about to go watch a Razorback baseball game and was at a stop sign. A bunch of cars were parked on the side of the road and I couldn't see anything when I was pulling out. A Toyota Tundra basically ran over the top of my hood. All it did was blow out his tire. I still got a failure to yield ticket, but I'll be going to court to fight it. The guy I hit even said it was bs. I doubt I'll be able to get another Corvette either, my insurance will probably be too high. This sucks...
Hate to be the barer of bad news, but if you pulled out and were hit by on comming traffic it is your fault!!! good luck in court
Well, I understand that but when you can't see anything because cars are parked alongside the road on a curve it really puts you in a hard situation. Thanks

Good luck with your insurance, they already have us bent over the
barrel with their rates. They lick their chops when they get to tag
on a skyrocketed premium.Hope everything works in your favor
Were you easing out to look for oncoming traffic or did you just chance it?
If it is insured, then they will replace it. If it had mods might not get them in the recovery.
These days if it is your fault and you get the violation, yeah you can be assured you'll pay a penalty for a few years. But that won't change regardless of the vehicle. Your premiums are in fact going up and you can check your clue report afterwards to see what ins co writes you up for. Transferring to another company they will see the clue and rate you as well. So it's just best to accept now it will cost you extra for a few years.
Lordy, I am so sorry for you to have to see your baby all crashed up.
However, if your insurance company totals it and it's too much to fix it....consider buying it back....or somehow keeping it. If you have a garage, take all the damaged panels off and see what you have.
Let it sit in that garage and slowly spend bit by bit to rebuild....and modify it. It looks like the basic running gear is in good shape....not sure about engine damage, but the hood, fenders and front end are all pretty easy to replace .....and those components don't cost much if you have patience and a place to do it.
That is a bummer . Some time ago I was going to make a right turn, and I couln't see over thee hood of those old school squared all metal croun victorias, so I just waited untill the light turned green. I feel your pain man, for these cars are too low to see even over the hoods of family sized cars.
