Do you just have to drive in the rain? Why do you want to put your Vette in such a compremising position? Surly if you can afford a Vette you have a second car. Lets say you have the right tires and all the skills needed to drive on the WET, then the factor of the "other driver". Fellow Vetters stay out of the rain. Keep her safe. Its not worth it. Mine has never been in the rain and never will be in the rain. It gets wet when I wash it and thats it. No wrecks, no repairs and clean in areas where most are filty. If and when I sell it I'll get more for it. But I'll never sell it. The true enthusiasist and or car buyer is willing to spend more to get more. I do, have and will. For those that must drive on the WET, stay safe and watch out for the other guy!

Not all Vette owners are able to have a second car. I dont. Mine is my daily driver and I dont think its worth any less because it has been in the rain vs. not being in the rain. I think its a little rediculous to think that all vettes should stay out of the rain.
Anyway, I hope you get it fixed up in no time man. Good luck with the repairs

Dude, I bought my car to DRIVE. I've never had a problem and probably won't again, unless I have another dumbsh!t attack. I, more specifically my right foot, not the tires or rain caused the little mishap. No worries though, it'll get repainted and be good as new, if not BETTER, and I'll soon be driving in pouring rain again. Plus how much fun is is to slide around corners sideways in the rain.
I drive my nittos in the rain all the time, even when they turn into slicks they somehow aren't too bad! I love them cuz they still hook when its wet, you just have to be careful of hydroplaning when they wear out a bit! Nothing is more fun than drifting in the rain on a set of nittos, just be careful ;]

Still wonderin' how I'll react when I get the first mash. Sorry for your vette, man. It'll be a drag explaining to people who see it, over and over... hope you get a good repair.
Wow that sucks and the reason I have 2 sets of rear rims and tires, when I am going on a trip or get caught in the rain I go with my regular tires and for my spirited driving my Nittos and good luck with the repair
You don't need to replace the door. That looks easily repairable.
From experience or ???
The fiberglass is pretty bad. It looks much worse in the daylight all dried off The bottom forward part of the door is floppy and disbonded too... Not soo good.
