I've tried to do a search on this and I haven't found anything useful.
I have a Cassette Head Unit and a 12 Disc Changer in my '02 Vette. The gentleman that I bought the car from today used an IPOD instead of the Disc Changer. Since I'm a CD guy, I asked him to install the Disc Changer back into the car which he did.
There's only a FM, AM, Tape and Aux buttons. I've tried hitting the Aux button to no avail. How do I engage the Disc Changer?
If it is hooked up correctly, the Aux should work. However, the thing not working is probably the reason he took it out in the first place. Those Bose setups were cheap and a lot of them are going south.
sometimes the CD changer doesn't sync up with the head unit.
Here's a method to try:
assuming the CD changer is working properly...
*remove the disc cartridge from the CD changer
* have headunit powered on & playing AM or FM, and then turn off the ignition switch.
* unplug the CD changer from the harness.
* turn ignition on so that the radio is again powered up on AM or FM.
* push the headunits AUX button... then quickly run back and plug in the changer.
give it a minute or two before installing changer cartridge (with a couple CD's installed... make certain the discs are not installed the wrong side up in the cartridge).
BTW; where was this previous owners IPOD connection made ? Was it at this rear compartment ... plugged into the CD changer harness ?

if you have not pulled the head unit to check the AUX input then check that, the IPOD plugs in behind the head unit. good luck

and that's why I asked. There is more than one aftermarket automotive interface made... and some are connected where you mentioned, and others are plugged into the end of the CD changer harness.

Thanks for you time and info. I'll try that when I get home.

The IPOD was hooked on the harness in the rear compartment where the changer is. I'll recheck the harness conections as well.
Got a chance to do it this afternoon, the CD Changer works now.
Thank You!!!!
Like I told ya, it might have trouble synching. It probably would have come around in a couple days, it did every time in the past, except for once, when I had to go through some of the steps Mike listed. Mike's the Man!
