Well I finially ran my buddys 2007 c6 auto and let me tell ya I was far from being spanked as most of you thougt I did loose but by 1 /4 car
he told me he damm near craped when I was able to launch almost a car length from the line I ran him twice. if I had a few more feet I think I may have taken him I'll keep my c5 much nicer looking and not much slower heres to all you people who that thought that the c5 was going to get spanked big time my stock 1998 c5 coupe m6 turned 13.2 at 105 and my buddys 2007 coupe A4 12.9 at 112 not much faster for the money.

The difference between a 12.9@112 and 13.2@105 is 60ft, more like 4 car lengths.
I'd love to see time slips. I bet that his R/T was pathetic, and his time didn't start until he tripped the beams.
But all else equal, it would have been by about 4 car lengths. But in the end, sounds like your the better driver.
I don't really understand that either. 3 tenths is usually a good 2-3 car lengths. Those times are about right for those cars though. The C6 may have been a little slow because the guy doesn't launch well.

For most tracks, the timer doesn't start until you break the starting line beam. If you launch with perfect R/T, and your opponent launches 1 second later, you may both cross the finish approx the same time, even if he has a 1 sec faster car. That's what I think happend here.
That's the whole crux of bracket racing. It removes the better car and focuses on the drivers R/T and consistancy.
In any event, both times are about right for stock cars, and not too shaby for a last generation car to hang with the new one.
If you haven't done it in a while,,throw some fresh plugs and wires. Mine had 57k on it ,and the difference was dramatic. Just could help close the gap a little more,,especially if you keep getting the hole shot on him!!
He lightly preloaded . I'm sure he was nervous even more after my first launch . let me tell you it was pretty close Im Happy with my profomance
my car has 67 k
Not really trying to offend here, but 105 to 112, he blew you away IMO. He is obviously making more power then you and either couldnt launch, hook, or something cause that is a HUGE difference in MPH, thats you making 280-(maybe)300 rwhp, and him making 330-350, thats big. Race him on a closed freeway or even a 40 punch and he would be 4 cars ahead.
the C5 isnt a fast car stock, the C6 is boraderline, and the C6Z is pretty stout for a stock car.
