1. I have runflats filled 30pps
2. I am light on my foot
3. I coast as much as I can but the problem in LA theres always someone on your *** and its hard to get away with coasting.
A) what is a "smith Driving system?"
B) Change the plugs, I will definately look into that.
C) What is a "black wing filter?" is that an air filter? will it help?
D) what did you mean (UWEBABY) by check your gears (sorry Im a layman)
Blackwing is just a variation of the cold air intake systems, like K & N and so on,there's several out there. You could pump your tires a few more pounds, check inside drivers door sill, and maybe add a couple or more if they are warm. Also look into a CAGS eliminator(the skip shift) Easy 1st,3rd,5th then 6th will help mpg. The eliminator is cheap.avaiable lots of places and easy to install.Just unplug from solenoid on drivers side of trans.Lets YOU pick what gear you want. He was refering to the code list in your glove box,,for automatics there were optional rear gears,2.73 and 3.15 to 1 ratios not sure about m6 coupes as mine is an FRC that comes standard with 3.42 rear gears.
Waddsy, I Didnt Notice You Had A 6 Speed, So I Dont Know What Your Gears May Be In Your Differential. In The Auto, There Are Codes In The Glove Box Indicating What Gears Were Installed At The Factory. My 3:15s Have The Code U91 (the 98 May Have The Codes In The Driver Storage Compartment).
I get around 21-23mpg and that is almost all city driving (believe me driving to Norfolk on I64 IS city driving) and I normally drive about 350 miles before I refill the tank (and normally, I still have almost 1/4 tank left).
I have a 99 6-speed and took a trip with me and my fat friend (300 + lbs) and we went to my uncles house in another state, its over 600 miles there, I never had to fill up untill we left to go back home. The dic said 34.6 mpg after roughfly 1200 miles of highway driving. the cruse was set at 73 the Whole time. I have dual cone cold air intake and B&B bullet catback, and 3.42 gears
Before you buy stuff, CAI, Catbacks, etc, to improve your MPG, do the math on how much improvement in MPG you "might" get and the cost of your add on.
If it takes many years of MPG savings to recover the cost of the add on.........is it a cost effective purchase?
Hi, believe it or not, my 03 AE vert, auto, 315 rear, is the most economical car in my garage. Subaru and Chrysler 300 are the others. I get a solid 22 around town, and if steady road driving get at least 30 at LEGAL, ha ha speeds.(true calculations based on amount of gas used versus miles driven). I use either wawa, shell or sunoco premium.I've used sunoco 89, or shell 89 for a few tanks and didn't notice any difference from premium in performance or mileage, and it is 12c cheaper around here. There is not any magical gas enhancers on the market, most of the claims are less than factual to say the least. The most you can do to save gas is maintain the car properly,ie: plugs, wires, fluids, tire pressure, coat of wax, less weight in the car, combine trips to complete more errands in one trip, avoid tire spinning starts and always being on the gas or brakes, and enjoy it as best you can.
Good Luck
