Default Shipping exhaust, help!

I've sold my Stock Ti exhaust, and i'm finding it impossible to find a box with the right dimensions to ship these in!! I've searched UPS, USPS, fedex, uhaul and all of my local shipping places for a box that will work with these but am having no luck. I know i'm not the first one to ship these so anybody with experience know where to get a box the right size or how to package them so they dont get bent?

The box I need is roughly 35 widex45 Longx16 Tall

you kinda have to "make" your own box unless you want some enormous monstrosity. I also shipped mine through greyhound for around $40 vs. fedex's $120. I'll see if I have a pic of them packaged up.

I have my exhaust on E-Bay right now and took the exhaust to a UPS store and they made a box for me for $25. I dont have a picture of it since I left it at the store so I can ship from them. I no they used two boxes and packed the exhaust so they wouldn't get dented.

Shipping is not a issue, I've already got the price for shipping as low as i can and the price of the sale was adjusted for this. I'm thinking of just getting a huge roll of bubble wrap and wrapping everything up in like 3 layers and just shipping them this way. I was just worried about the possibility of the pipes getting bent...

hi enigma94 -

I just strapped the two pieces together, nested as tightly as possible using shop rags and strapping tape.

Then I made a small cardboard enclosure for the tips and flange ends, first wrapping rags and masking tape around them.

The rags act as cushion, and prevent the mess of tape-glue all over everything.

The pipes and mufflers are pretty stout and can handle a certain amount of shipping torture.

I use DHL and have been getting great rates - I would think it will cost around $30 to ship a Ti system prepared as I have explained.

best regards

Awesome! Thanks for the explanation! I'll probably do something similar, as thats probably the cheapest route to go.

Z06 John, I spoke with my local ups store already and they didnt seem to be able to box them, might of been just that store though. 25 dollars on top of the shipped isnt really an option either but thanks for the info!

Greyhound is the cheapest I found(overnight)- shipping my Ti's from Jax and I shipped them as individuals with bubble wrap taped to the tips and around the mufflers and the purchaser was pleased.

We just shipped a set out on Monday from western Illinois to Mechanicburgs,PA and it cost $60 with UPS. We sandwiched bubble wrap between the two mufflers and pipes and then used shrink wrap (that is used for packing) to pack it tight from movement and rubbing and then made a box around it. It sounds tedious, but it really isn't if you have the extra cardboard laying around.
