Also, in regards to my comment about low-grade gas... I have met several mechanics who have had 25+ years in Chevy automobiles recommended the good stuff only.
But yeah..we drive durable cars, its not worth putting ****ty stuff in it hah.
I wish that I had your problem with the cost of premium fuel. In Canada, premium grades of fuel cost 11 cents a litre more or 44 cents a gallon. It's amazing the difference in cost and I can't explain it.
My thoughts......for years and years gas was XXX for regular, then a dime more for medium, then a dime more for premium. Now, in the last year, it is thirty cents more a gallon for premium. WTF is up with that?

The problem with relying on the knock sensor to back off timing when running lower octane fuel is that it is a reactive system in that it retards only after it senses preignition. Too late!
