I had a set in my 2000 when I bought it. The car passed the first emission test but failed last fall when I had to renew my plates. I ended up having the simulators taken out and the O2 sensors put back in. Have had fewer problems without them, car is not throwing codes any longer. Just my two cents
The EPA has decided that they are against the law and circumvent the emmissions regulations. I know a bunch of dealers don't sell them anymore. I don't run any 02's at all except the wide band. No inpection station has said squat. I do have what looks like a functioning air pump and some hoses though.
Thanks I guess i will see if I can find a used set.
Is it true that a tuner can turn off the rear O2 sensors so that the check engine light does not come on?
Yes, if you go to a good tuner they can turn the rear 02's off, that is your best bet. I've got a couple friends that tried running the Sims and they are junk over all. Both people I knew had 02 sims fail numerous times.
Can anyone recommend a tuner in the Dallas area that can turn off my rear sensors on my 2000 coupe. I am getting the low efficiency codes but dont think it is the Cats. I live in Allen Texas.
