Z06 Engine noise
Got a 2002 with 28,000 miles... always been pampered... Well most of the time...
In the last month, I have started to hear a lot 'ticking' from the engine.. The old 'pea thraser' ticking..
Is this common... Should I be concerned ???

Not sure what a "pea thrasher" sounds like- but, does the noise diminish or go away when the engine is up to operating temperature?
Another idea (which you've likely covered) - is replace the oil and filter.
I know my 2002 Z06 makes some noises until the oil temps reaches about 100F.

I hear lots of "sewing machine" and valvetrain noise complaints but haven't noticed much from my LS6...

Yeah my Z06 sounds like a sewing machine also. However it does not have a knock. Now the LS1 in my Trans Am does have a knock. It runs hard and makes 327 RWHP so I don't think anything is wrong with it. I noticed this noise right after I bought it new. It now has 20,000 miles on it.

Ditto, 2002 with 28k. Started noticing more of the sewing machine noise in the last few hundred miles.I just changed the oil and filter - no effect.
