I just bought my first corvette its a 2001 Z06 with borla exhaust, and ero taillights for mods. I'm looking for any ideas for mods nothing major just smaller things to help the car perform better or any general advise. I'm new to the corvette world so anything will help.
thanks Matt
A could cold air intake and nice set of headers are good starter mods. The Callaway Honker is a really good CAI and worth the money. Then after you get a few mods get a good dyno tune, do not get a handheld tuner as they are junk and the tunes that come in them are junk. Congrats on the purchase.

Seriously, corgrats on the purchase...you will love the Z06! I would do some kind of cold-air intake and maybe lower it slightly on the stock bolts.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I just ordered the Vararam intake I found it for $285 on the forum and did some research and it seamed like a good price. I'm gonna wait on the headers, I want to get the car completly paid off before I do anything else. The stock hp is plenty more then what I'm currently used too anyways. Is anyone planning on attending the hot rod power tour in Missouri or Kansas?
Congrats on a great purchase and welcome to the 2001 C5 Z06 family
I would advise you buy a set of used stock C5 Z06 wheels as a start - you should be able to find a good used set for abotu $500 or $600.
You will think you have just added 20hp. Those knockoff wheels are very heavy and make the car feel sluggish - in a straight line and in the corners, especially at stock HP levels.

Well congratulations on the purchase of a great lookin' Vette. Your very first mod (after the vararam) should be "learning to drive the car".
Welcome to the "Z" club...
I was new to the vette world as of 5 months ago. My 04 Z06 has forced me to focus most of my attention to it and this forum. Yes, they are both addicting. I recently installed the Vararam CAI and now I'm looking into headers and a tune. When I first bought the car I swore that I was going to leave it bone stock. Oh well...........just enjoy the ride. By the way, awesome car.
Like a couple people have said it is VERY hard to not modd your Vette!! I promised myself I wouldn't do much to mine, but that lasted till I saw a couple pictures of things I really liked. For instance my B&M short throw, Stock fog lights added with HIDs, tint, rocker and frame savers, IPOD interface, and a few other things!!!
I really enjoy my Z, I have no doubt you will love yours!!
