Default How to wash C5 car cover? Coverking stormguard

This is sort of C5 relavant, since its a C5 cover. How do I wash my car cover, its the storm guard coverking one that our vendor southerncarparts sells. It got pollen and dirt on it when I took it off. Delicate in the washing machine?

I put mine in the washing machine at the laundromat....works fine. Probably not too bad if you dont do it too often.

Tell me of this cover... I am in the market for one. Pretty sure the BULLITT cover won't work.

My covers only last about a year and a half. I wash it every few months. Maybe it shortens the life, then again, keep it clean and reduce scratches. $80 or so for a nice tight fit cover every 18 months is not too bad. Not even two tanks of gas.

I took mine to the laundromat, used a large commercial washer with some very mild soap and then let it air dry.

Its fit to the car of course, its all one piece, has the c5 logo on it. Its really nice. Its like everything proof. But its $335 so you are paying for it. Its not coated with anything because it doesn't have to be. Its also really light weight surprisingly. It keeps the car super clean too. But when it got pollen and caterpillars all over it, I had to hose it off, then I took the car out and it got dirty on the underside while removing it. So now I have to wash it. It might be overkill but its really good and its piece of mind that if it were in a hail storm, the car is protected.

I got tired of the hassle of taking my car covers to a laundromat to wash. I did meet some nice derelicts there, however.
I bought a CALIFORNIA CAR COVER COMPANY cover that can be washed/dryed in our home appliances.
The savings in gas and rolls of quarters is worth it...

But where can I get one?

I paid that for the covers on my last 2 mustangs. I am a firm believer in covers.

VetteFTW,

Does the stormguard by Coverking fit like a glove? Is it great? I'm trying to protect mine from hail and sun mostly.
Thanks

They tell you to wash it on the car. I put mine in my home washer with a tiny bit of soap and nothing else, on cold wash.

The I line dry it, while I am out cruising.

Whatever you do, DO NOT PUT IT IN THE DRYER OR USE HOT WATER. You will melt the water proofing and it will be no good.

Slap it in one of the LARGE Milner front load washing machines and it'll do fine

Woolite or a mild detergent

Thanks,Matt

Hi VetteFTW -

I don't cover my vettes anymore, but I used to use the Evolution fabric covers on other cars.

I just drape them over the vehicle (or another vehicle....) and hose them off.

Some covers are treated with chemicals to make them water or stain resistant, so I never used soap on them.

best regards -

mqqn
