So the wheels I am looking to buy are entirely chrome, but I am thinking that may be a little much for me. So I was thinking that I can possibly paint the spokes myself and leave the lip chrome for a nice look. I actually like the look of a silver. Anyone have any tips? Never done this before.
I was given some free oem wheels from a forum member a while back. I am thinking about painting them black. I don't feel like spending the $ to powdercoat as I would rather put that $ to new wheels. I am curious also to see if anyone else has gone this route.
I would rather just pop for the $200-$300 to have my powdercoated. if that paint starts to chip or flake it would looked MAS HORIBLE! I am actually thinking of having mine done next month..
If your rims are chrome plated , the chrome will have to be striped off before powder coating or paint. Been there , done that. The last set of rims were these from my T/A[IMG][/IMG] But they are alloy and were not plated but polishing the rim and webing then strip , sand , tape, prime, sand , tape, color coat, and clear urethane was time consuming.

Does seem like a shame to buy chrome wheels then paint them. Unless the wheels are unique and only come in chrome in the style you want, you may want to look at other choices. Just a suggestion.
