Alright well my A/C compressor is puking oil out of the bottom, so I've got a new compressor and collecting the rest of the parts to do the job, and since you have to take the water pump off to change the compressor out, I figured with 98,000 miles I should go ahead and change the water pump out since I'll have it off anyways. So my question....I'm on a budget, and the A/C is already breaking it, would autozones "New" Duralast pump, gaskets, and thermastat, be ok or should I cough the extra $85 up and order one from gmpartshouse with the thermastat already on it?
I had my OEM water pump seize at about 45K miles. I opped for the AutoZone water pump and have about 10K miles on it now. I installed the new one myself and it really wasn't any big deal. So far, no problems - knock on wood.
P.S. I've had my A/C compressor leak oil from time to time after using the A/C. It looks like the the oil was leaking from the O rings at the connnections. Because it was happening intermittently, my A/C guy told me not to worry too much about and to bring it in when I can and he would change the O rings. I haven't been using the A/C too much and it hasn't leaked recently. Is your compressor leaking from the O rings too?
I need to craw under the car and check, but the underside of the compressor is drinched, and the other day i backed out of the garage there was a coffee can size puddle, i dont think a leaky o-ring would cause this much leakage.
Anyone have any experience with NAPA brand water pump, found a guy that had bought a new napa pump, but never used it, $50, sounds like an awesome deal to me, but I don't want to skimp on quality if its a crappy pump then I dont have a problem spending the $240 for a gm...just curious if anyone knows anything about them, or who makes them

Thanks
My water pump went belly up at 41,000 miles, I had the option of an AC Delco or Napa pump, the Delco was $300 more than the Napa and the Napa had a lifetime guarantee. No problem at all with the Napa pump.......
