[Z06] Low Oil Level message??

Low Oil Level message??

If this light comes on, does it indicate 1 quart low or is is it more than that?

Well, I don't know .. but it certainly means 'check the dipstick and prepare to add oil'

01, most folks indicate 1 full quart low.......then, re-check...........

When the message came on in my '01, it held almost two quarts!

I've had to add anywhere from 1 1/2 to two quarts...

Did you try and check the levels after the car sat OVERNIGHT, or right away??.
Because ot DO make a difference..........and when the ADD light came on, where was the LEVEL on your stick???

Umm,

I added oil right away, the level was at the bottom of the dip stick (just under the first indent). I added until the oil came to the fill line.

Is this not the right way to go? I would think it needs to be checked hot and if you fill it hot, it shouldn't hurt anything too much?
