I changed mine to RP. Actually just a drain, filter change and refill, so only used about 5 quarts. Evacuating the system is actually the right way but the RP is compatible w/ the OEM stuff so I didn't bother.
Tranny seems to shift somewhat better and is also real quite!

Don't add additives - They're not needed!

If you flush it out completely like you should, it's at least double the five quarts. I can't recall exactly how many quarts and I also added a tranny cooler. Someone will chime in though.

^^He has a Z guys, your car will take a little less than 4 quarts and yes its good stuff. No other additives. I noticed a better difference in mine but went to Penzoil Syncromesh instead after 10k miles and like it the way it is now.

I have been using Royal Purple motor oil, manual tran, rear diff and they make the best products you can buy. If you read up about them it will tell you the benefits.
I think it blows away other products.
I use it in my daily cars and get better mileage too. At least the computer in the truck was better.

I changed mine yesterday to royal purple. Mine is a 6 speed. The trans according to royal purple is supposed to hold 4.1 Qts (and I'm assuming that is dry) because mine held a little less than 4. The Rear end is supposed to hold 1.7 Qts, but it held a little less than that too.

The only thing I gained from it is now I'm sure that I have pretty much the best or one of the best products you can buy in my driveline. It is a little quieter and smoother. I have a problem somewhere, and my car grinds sometimes when hunting a gear. I don't know what's going on with it and I was hoping the RP would fix it, but it didn't . I know now that I have the best in there though

My 6speed was very reluctant to get into first from neutral waiting at lights.Did a Royal Purple tranny (and rearend too) After a little driving it was cured. As stated above no seat of the pants difference ,,But the shifting action is MUCH smoother. I raised the nose a little got a good drain and used a little over 3 1/2 qt. Go through the sticky at the top here Weights, measurements, ratios, strengths etc.has all the amounts and types you need, lots of information there!!
